What's cookin' good lookin' ?

One of my 101 goals in 1001 days is to plan 5 months of food menus, specifically dinners. I bought a cute menu organizer for the fridge that enables my list making obsession. RJ and I went through the freezer and then our recipe book to see what could be made and what needed to be bought. We came up with this schedule.Look how nice and neat it is. There are some blank spaces to account for the occasional eating out and for the times when one of us wouldn't be home for dinner.

It was a great idea, however our month turned out to look like this:There are about 5 check marks on there. Life got in the way of our planned eating and even our Monday night 'pasta' was out the window 3 times out of 5!!
I really liked the planned menu and we've decided to keep at it. I'm not thinking straight by the end of the day and I don't want to discuss what we should make for dinner, I just want to eat. You know how I get when my blood sugar gets low! Okay maybe you don't know and that's probably a good thing. I can get....dramatic.

I can't commit to an actual SCHEDULE of menu planning...but we DO make a list of things we would like to make and then buy the groceries so we have all of the fixin's. This way we still have lots of ideas, but no pressure to actually follow a plan. Is it bad that I can't commit to a month's worth of meals???
