Jen and I did it. We finished 21 km and we could still walk. Well for a while, until we reached the car. We finished in 3 hours and 16 minutes. Better than what we thought we'd do. We were very sore for a few days but we were expecting that considering we really hadn't trained much for the event.
The funniest moment was to hear people cheer our names as we walked by. Evey one's first names were printed on our race numbers for this specific reason. However, Jen's name was miss-entered in the database. She claims it wasn't her fault , but when the teenagers at the Gatorade station called out " Go Karen, you're doing great. Come on Drinkell, that's the way to go!" I nearly spit my Gatorade up on my self. Of course being in multi-cultural-Mississauga, I probably would have had a hard time enunciating the majority of their names, but I couldn't help but wonder what they thought of Drinkell for a name.
