Puppy Cookies

On Sunday I decided to make Bauer some treats. I read a very simple recipe a while back and had all the ingredients already in the cupboard.

Sesame Cookies (makes about 4 dozen)
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/3 oil (I used canola because I'm in Canada)
1/4 pure honey
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
3 tbsp sesame seeds
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix all ingredients (but seeds) into a large bowl. Knead dough on flour covered surface until firm. Roll into quarter sized balls and roll in sesame seeds.
Cook on baking tray for 10-15 minutes or until firm. Turn oven off and let sit for 1-2 hours until hard.Karen's Tips:
1) Do not use the sesame seeds, it just gets messy. They fall of the cookies and start to burn on the trays in the oven. And the ones that stay on fall off when you touch the cookie. (See the pie in the bottom of the jar?). Skip the seeds.
2) After rolling the dough into quarter sized balls I would have taken the heel of my hand and flattened them to about 1/4 inch making them more coin shaped than ball.

I was glad that the ingredients for these cookies were more natural/healthy than the ones we were giving Bauer from the store. He only gets 1-2 a day so the nutritional content wasn't something I thought about too much but it was nice that I could make these with the fixing's I already have.
But does Bauer like them?
A seed on the nose and a string of drool. A cookie success. Anything for my B.
